HELLY
HANSEN CONTINUES SPONSORSHIP OF
THREE PEAKS YACHT RACE IN 2002
Helly Hansen
is pleased to announce that, for the fourth consecutive year, it will be
supporting the challenging Three Peaks Yacht Race.
This celebrated event, enjoying its 25th Anniversary, will be
attracting sailors from all corners of the world in 2002.
The 30th
June 2001 should have seen the start of the Helly Hansen Three Peaks Yacht Race
2001 but due to the outbreak of Foot and Mouth it had to be postponed.
This is the first time the event has been cancelled since it was
established in 1977.
Julia
Wilson, Marketing Manager for Helly Hansen UK said, “We are very much looking
forward to supporting the event in 2002. We
fully support the decision of the race committee and it is regrettable that the
Three Peaks Yacht Race 2001 has been postponed,.
As a leading manufacturer of outdoor performance clothing, the
challenging Three Peaks Yacht Race is an ideal event for the Helly Hansen target
consumer.”
The Helly
Hansen Three Peaks Yacht Race which starts at Barmouth in Wales, takes sailors,
cyclists and runners up the West Coast to navigate some of the most treacherous
waters, to run up the UK’s highest mountains, and to cycle across inhospitable
terrain. More than 120 participants
put themselves through rigorous training to take part in this endurance test.
